Fluffy eggs for Easter

To inaugurate this blog, we are going to talk about Easter and how to decorate your eggs. Here is a way to transform radically your eggs into a design decoration.

I decided to work on duck eggs as the size and the colour of the shell is perfect for this project.

You will have to empty them, for this use something to pierce two small holes in the shell.

One hole is used to blow in using the plastic straw and the other one is to evacuate the inside of the eggs (do not hesitate to enlarge the hole if you have some difficulty to empty it). I usually rinse it with water to be sure there is nothing left inside.

The best way to harden and dry the shells is to put them 10min in the oven at 160°C. Careful when you remove the eggs from the oven, it’s hot!

Your eggs are now ready to be painted! But this year I wanted to do something different. I decided to use some feathers and stick them onto the shell. Here they are white but you can use any type and any size depending on the effect you want to obtain.

I put some glue at the extremity of the feather.

Then I place it on the shell using a brush to stick it well. Begin by the top of the egg and go down progressively to cover all of the shell. I decided to cover completely the egg but you can choose to cover only half of it as well.

Now my egg is ready, I attach a thread so I can hang it as a decoration.

Here is the result!

Another thing you can do is to use LED lights and put them inside the shell. The effect is amazing as the egg shell conduct well the light.
