DIY Wedding?

Here is the first article of a series talking about wedding. It’s a lot about DIY wedding tips as we tried to do a maximum of stuffs ourselves with my partner and now husband. Wedding is kind of a big thing nowadays so don’t forget that the most important thing is for you to enjoy preparing this event.

First important thing to do is to book the venue, caterer and registry office. I would advise a minimum one year in advance as most of the venue get booked really fast especially if you want to get married in summer. Try to visit the Wedding Fairs as you can get some special discounts if you book your wedding during that type of events.

Once you have got the registry office and venue booked, you can think about a theme for your wedding. Don’t hesitate to do something you really like or that is close to your hobbies. It can be anything! Even a Viking wedding ahah… That’s actually what we decided to do as we are historical reenactors :)

So when you have finally decided on the theme, you can choose some colours either one colour that might be associated with the white of the table clothes and napkins either two colours… We took our inspiration from Iceland and the blue lagoon. An amazing place that we visited together. So our colours where light blue for the colour of the lagoon, black for the sand of the volcanic beaches of Iceland and some gold to give a festive touch to the decoration.

So keep watching this space for some tips to do your own DIY wedding!
